Another Missed Run
I guess this week will become an unscheduled recovery week and I hope to get back on the roads on Friday. I am not going to pick up my training as planned because that would mean a rather long run on Sunday. Given the leg situation I think it's wise to keep things short and slow while working back from this injury.
At least I hope that I will be able to start working back in a couple of days...
And, oh yeah, in other not so nice news I went online to finally register for the Ottawa Half Marathon only to find out it had just sold out! Now I have to find a plan B for this race in May. Luckily there are other options, but I was really hoping to run the Ottawa course again this year after having a really fun and successful race last year.
Bummer.

wow, that is a double whammy for you today. That sucks about the half marathon, that race would have been perfect for your plans it seemed like. But as long as you have a half marathon anytime before September you will probably be fine.
And I might be in the same boat as you with my left knee, it is giving me problems right now, I think I overdid it recently on my 2 long runs by running too fast on them before my body was ready. Now I'm taking advil, and following your plan of only doing upper body work at the gym, bummer
Thanks Nelly. I think it was too much speedwork for me last week that caused my knee pain. Here's hoping all this upper body weights stuff actually helps once we're back on the roads!
Anymore, you have to register day one for a race. Regsitrations are filling up unbelievably quickly for even the little known races!
