Things That Might Have Been
IF I could have been running as I'd planned, I likely would have a nice PR in the marathon by now.
WHEN I was running consistently at the end of 2013 and the beginning of this year I was feeling strong and putting up mileage the likes of which I'd never done before.
WHAT happened was that I broke open a new pair of shoes, they aggravated my ankle, I compensated by altering my gait, and my foot went all "What the in the merciful FUCK is this shit?!!!" on me.
HOW I'm trying to cope is to take it one day at a time, not stress about things like mileage or pace, and just run when my body allows me to. The toughest part is trying to enjoy the breaks that my foot keeps so generously giving me. Such a selfless foot... If only I could give it away so that it could bless others with its generosity.
Onwards and upwards. BQ is still the distant carrot of a dream that it has ever been...
